Question: Am I expected to bring a gift to an engagement party?
Response: Not every couple has an engagement party, and those who do should not expect to receive a gift. If you want to bring something small and celebratory, like a bottle of champagne or a pair of champagne flutes, that's fine. But if you expect to spend a lot of money on future wedding events and festivities, then it is OK to pass on buying a gift for the engagement party.
