Today's Bride, wanting to avoid the "all white tradition" has a surprising variety of options, from subtle to sensational.  Here's one option  . . .

A Jacket.  Two piece bridal ensembles consisting of a gown and a jacket are very popular because they solve a lot of problems.  This combination works well for a Bride who wants a bare-shouldered look for the reception, but wants to be covered up for the ceremony; if she's having a winter wedding and simply needs the extra warmth; or if she wants a cover-up for a summer garden wedding when a cool evening is possible.  Having the jacket in a color or a print puts a new spin on the gown and jacket look.

One of the FIRST steps in planning your wedding is to write down your guest list.  And that's because your most variable expense will be the cost of providing your guests with food and beverages.

There is a huge $$$ difference between inviting fifty guests and one hundred guests and there is also a huge difference between inviting one hundred guests and two hundred guests.  So, I suggest deciding on the number of guests you want to invite and then determine what guests will realistically come to the wedding.

Question from a Bride and Groom . .

Can we bring our Marriage License from our home state to Florida?

Response . .

Yes, you can bring it to Florida but it will NOT be honored.  If you wish to get married in Florida then you must obtain a Marriage License in the State of Florida.  An officiant cannot and will not sign a Marriage License from another state.

Wearing an all-white ensemble is a relatively recent trend attributed to Queen Victoria, who wore a white gown trimmed with orange blossoms.

Her daughters followed in her footsteps, wearing all-white ensembles that came to simultaneously evoke simplicity and luxury.  This look was abandoned during the Second World War, when brides simply wore their best outfit.

The all-white look came back quickly after the war and has been the strongest influence in bridal fashion ever since.
