L is for Legal
If you wish to have a LEGAL marriage, then you must apply for a Marriage License, have a ceremony that fulfills your state's requirements and then return that "completed and signed" Marriage License to the county Marriage License Department. Your marriage is not recognized until it is added by the county Marriage License Department to the state's vital statistics.
K is for Kitchen
Even you do not cook or just learning to cook, there are some basic kitchen tools that you will need in your kitchen. And the best way to determine what you need (or do not need) is to visit other peoples' kitchens and ask them what kitchen appliances and tools they use most frequently.
L is for Limousines
If you plan "to party" to and from your wedding ceremony and/or your wedding reception than you should pursue getting a party bus or limousine.
P is for Paper Plates
I once went to a wedding reception that used paper plates of the lowest quality. And not only that, you had to pull the paper plates apart to get one.
Any love or happiness is given to anyone always comes back. Unfortunately, we expect it from the same person.
M is for Matron of Honor. A Matron of Honor and a Maid of Honor can have the same duties or responsibilities in a wedding. The difference between the Matron of Honor and the Maid of Honor is that the Matron of Honor is married.

I is for Insurance
It is always a good idea to get "event" insurance, especially if you are traveling to a wedding ceremony site or you are having an outdoor ceremony or reception.
On the 21st of April, Teresa and Christopher Vigneault renewed their vows of marriage.
Question . . . Who is the HOST or HOSTESS of a wedding?
Response . . . Contrary to popular belief, the Bride's parents are not always the host or hostess of a wedding. Many times, the couple signs contracts and/or makes arrangements for the event and/or pays for the event so they would be the HOST or HOSTESS of their wedding.
G is for GOWNS
If you are having a beach theme or casual theme wedding, you should avoid wearing "a gown". A gown is worn at more formal events. I once saw a Bride wearing a very formal white gown with a long train walk down the aisle on a beach. Needless to say, the hem of the gown and the train were ruined by the beach sand
F is for Food
Most couples put "the food" served at their dinner or reception a top priority, and that's a good thing. When you don't care about "the food" then maybe you don't care about the guests or the venue or the event. I particularly remember going to a reception several years ago that can only be called "serve yourself"; the rolls were still in the grocery store wrapper, the deli meats and cheese were just put on a paper plate with no fork to serve yourself, and you had to look for the cups.
C is for Cell Phone
Everybody and their brother has a Cell Phone these days. And even though they have become "man's best friend", a cell phone can be a Bride and Groom's worst enemy. And why am I saying that? On more than one occasion I have witnessed 20, 30 or 40 people taking cell phone photos of the Bride walking down the aisle as their professional photographer is also trying to capture the Bride walking down the aisle. This is your wedding, and if you want to limit your guests taking cell phone photos and videos during a part or all of the wedding ceremony, then have someone make that announcement several times before the ceremony begins.
Christine M Urbina and Michael L Wakefield were joined in marriage on the 3rd of April.
C is for Corsages
Before you order corsages for your friends and/or family members, you should ask them if they want a corsage, and if they are allergic to flowers or any specific flower. Many people are allergic to roses.
C is for Civil Ceremony
A CIVIL Ceremony is a non-religious ceremony. A judge or civil servant will conduct a CIVIL Ceremony.
Mary Jane Diamond and William Wilson III were united in matrimony on the 22nd of March.
C is for Ceremony Programs
If your budget permits, Ceremony Programs can be handed out to the wedding guests as they take their seats before the ceremony begins. Ceremony Programs should include the schedule of the wedding ceremony and the names of the participants. And if one or both of you are moving to a new home, that address should be put on the Ceremony Program.
C is for Cruise.
Before you decide to get married on a cruise ship, make sure this ship or cruise line can legally provide that service. The smartest and safest thing that you can do is get married secretly or discreetly in your home state before your cruise date and then have a second ceremony on the ship. And what does this accomplish? By getting married in your home state/home country means that you are protected by the laws of your home state and your home country PLUS you do not have to pursue getting a Marriage License in a foreign country.
B is for Bedspreads
If you have listed a bedspread and/or sheets and/or blankets as a bridal shower gift or as a wedding gift, then make sure you list the style or color preferred and/or the size needed.
Amy J Neuin and Richard L Goss Jr. were joined in matrimony on the 19th of February.

B is for Bathroom Accessories
If you want Bathroom Accessories as a shower gift or wedding gift, pass along your bathroom "colors" or "theme" to a trusted friend or relative so that person can pass along that information to people who ask.
A is for Alcohol
No, you do not have to serve alcoholic beverages to your guests at a dinner or reception. Having a "dry" reception is more appropriate than asking your guests to pay for their own alcoholic beverages. You do what your budget will permit. Your are the host and hostess of the event, and that means you make the decisions.
Z is for Zig Zag
When you are constantly changing your mind about your wedding plans or the dinner menu or the guest list, then you are "zig zagging". And at that point, I recommend getting some professional advice or help.
Y is for Year
Yes, you can plan a small, medium or large wedding in a year. Your wedding can be as simple or as grand as you want it to be as long as your checkbook support those dreams.
W is for Wedding Day Schedule
If you have family members or friends who are always late to an event or if you are having a large wedding party (bridesmaids and groomsmen) or you just want to be very organized than you need to create a realistic Wedding Day Schedule. You need to take into account how many people are moving from Point A to Point B and how many miles are being traveled from Point A to Point B.
I once worked with a Bride whose Father was always late to everything. So, in order to get him to the ceremony site on time, she told him to be there an hour earlier than all the other wedding party members.
W is for Water
A caring couple will provide bottles of cold water to their guests before, during and after an outdoor ceremony during the hot and humid weather.
V is for Queen Victoria
When Queen Victoria got married she started the trend of wearing a white bridal gown.
U is for Uncle
If the Bride's Father is deceased or not available, the Bride's Uncle can walk her down the aisle and/or give her away.
T is for Tuxedo
A Tuxedo is formal wear and it should look like formal wear. Take the time to go to a men's formal wear store to get ideas and advice and a proper fitting. Many years ago I conducted a wedding for a couple who put their wedding day attire at the bottom of the priority list. This Groom's tuxedo did not fit properly and it was very wrinkled.
S is for Seamstress
Unless you are a professional seamstress or a professional dressmaker, I do not recommend hemming or altering your own bridal gown. Many years ago, I had a Bride tell me that she and her sister hemmed her bridal gown with glue the night before her wedding because she kept putting off contacting a professional to do that. As the Bride walked down the aisle, it was obvious that something was wrong with the hemline.
R is for Registry
I have been asked many times if it is appropriate for a couple to open a Gift Registry if they have been previously married. If there are items that neither of you have, but like to have, then, of course, list those items. The items that you select should pertain to both of you as a couple or as a family. On more than one occasion I have been asked if it's appropriate to list items that are specific to a child or children, and the answer is "No".
Q is for Quaker Wedding Ceremony
A Quaker Wedding Ceremony is similar to Quaker church service. It is a simple ceremony that is led by the Bride and Groom and supported by a few friends, relatives or church members.
Barbara Ulrich and John Veselka Jr. were joined in matrimony on the 18th of January.
Q is for Queen

Jennifer A Heinley and Franklin B Davis were joined in matrimony on the 13th of January.
P is for Pasta
Yes, it is okay to have a Pasta Station at your reception. A variety of pasta sauces will make your guests happy.
O is for Office Supplies
Did you know that a lot of your wedding paper trousseau (invitations, envelopes, Thank You notes, etc) can be obtained at or through at an Office Supply Store.
N is for New family
When you get married you will probably inherit "a new family". If it is possible, both families should meet before the wedding ceremony. I once married a Bride and Groom who dated all through high school and three years afterwards and neither family met the other family.
M is for Make-up
If you are planning on having your make-up done professionally on your wedding day then you should have a practice session about 7 - 10 days before your wedding day.
L is for Life Insurance
If you have life insurance, then you need to change it or update it after your wedding ceremony. Your Insurance Agent may ask for a copy of your Certificate of Marriage (the official and legal proof of your marriage).
And if you do not have life insurance, then you need to get some because your spouse needs to be protected. And once again, your may be asked for a copy of your Certificate of Marriage.
Melissa F Darrah and Christopher L Scaramuzzino were married on the 3rd day of January.
L is for Label Machine
I do not recommend using a label machine for mailing out invitations. Invitations are considered social events not a business transaction.
Amanda Geiser and Dustin Hartman were joined in matrimony on the first day of the year, January 1.
