Did you just get engaged?
The average engagement period is about one year. For couples who have 'long engagements" your venue and vendor choices are greater and more analytical. You have time to "shop around". I know of a couple who visited over twenty venues and none of them met the engaged couple's criteria. So, what did they do? The Bride's Mother's friend offered her backyard which was along an inland waterway as the ceremony and reception location. The couple saved hundreds on venue fees.
