"Do we have to repeat or say the same vows?"
Response: No, you do not. When a Justice of the Peace or a Judge conducts a civil or secular ceremony the same vows are usually stated by both participants. When a priest or a minister conducts a traditional Christian or Catholic ceremony, the same vows are stated by both participants. If a couples wishes to create their own wedding vows they need to find an officiant who is liberal and encourages the participants' creativity.
