Question from a Bride and Groom: What happens if our Marriage License is not valid on our wedding day?
Response: A couple of things could happen. The wedding ceremony could be postponed until the Marriage License is valid.
Or you could proceed with a Commitment Ceremony which is basically a ceremony without the pronouncement or declaration of marriage at the end. The words . . . Bride, Groom, and marriage should be avoided during a Commitment Ceremony. You can state your vows and you can exchange rings during a Commitment Ceremony. You will NOT be legally married at the end of a Commitment Ceremony.
