So, why do so many couples go over their wedding day budget?  Because they underestimated what things or services will cost or they purchased items or services they did not include in their original budget.

Here's a perfect example of how a couples goes "over budget" . . originally a Bride planned on having only one attendant, a Maid of Honor.  Well, that did not please the Bride's Mother or the Groom's Mother.  So, instead of ordering two bouquets, one for the Bride and one for her honor attendant, she had to order six more bridesmaids' bouquets plus additional dinners and "Thank You" gifts.

What is a Australian Unity Bowl?

The custom of having a "Unity Bowl" can be seen at weddings.  The purpose of this bowl is to have all family members fill it with colorful stones to signify that each person has contributed to coloring the lives of the newlyweds.  Each family member is represented by a particular color or colors and when the newly married couple mixes the bowl, a new family is formed with the beautiful mosaic of color that is created from the multi-colored stones.  What a great wedding keepsake!
