Question from a Bride and Groom . .
Got any ideas for a 50"s themed rehearsal dinner which we hope to have outside?
Response . .
(a) Buy some old vinyl records and hang them from the trees or hanging baskets or from the ceiling.
(b) Create invitations using a poodle skirt or T-shirt background.
(c) Make Elvis Presley hot dogs (crunchy peanut butter, sliced bananas, chopped peanuts and chocolate
sauce on top of quality hot dogs).
(d) Play 50's music.
(e) Encourage your guests to come dressed up for the theme.
(f) Get a cake or cupcakes made with hot rods on them.
(g) See if you can find old "coka cola glasses" at flea markets or consignemnt shops or yard sales and fill
them with nostaglia candy.
(h) Serve vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry milkshakes plus rootbeer floats.

Do vendors charge more money on a holiday? We are considering getting married on New Year's Eve.

There are many vendors that do not work any holidays. There are many vendors who only work a few holidays. And there are many vendors who will work any day of the week, whether it is a holiday or not.
And the vendors who do work a holiday may charge you an additional 25 to 50 percent.
For example: a harpist who plays at weddings and the social hour of receptions will normally charge $200 for a two hour package. If you asked this harpist to play at your New Year's Eve wedding and reception, she may charge you an additional $50 to $100.

If a vendor's fee is "too good to be true" then there is a reason for that . .

This person is not qualified or does not have a license or they will ask for a substantial deposit and then not show up to do the job. So I suggest contacting the Better Business Bureau to check on this person's record. If this vendor/supplier/provider has complaints against him or her, the BBB will have a record of those complaints and what they entail.

Having a spring bridal shower, bridesmaids' tea party or afternoon reception?
Lemonade Sunshine Cupcakes
6 ounces of white chocolate, chopped
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
1 cup sugar
2 large eggs
1/2 teaspoon Kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup milk
2 tablespoon lemon zest
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
Preheat oven 350 degrees. Process chocolate in food processor until finely chopped. Toss chocolate with 1 tablespoon flour; set aside.
Beat butter and sugar at medium speed with an electric mixer until fluffy, about 5 - 6 minutes. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Whisk together 1 1/2 cups flour, salt and baking soda; add to butter mixture alternately with milk. begin and end with flour mixture. Beat at low speed until blended after each addition. Add lemon zest and juice; beat for one minute. Stir in chocolate. Spoon batter into lined muffin pans, filling two-thirds full. Bake 18 to 20 minutes or until cupcakes are firm but not dry. Remove and cool completely on wire racks. Top with Lemonade Frosting.

Question of the week . .
To save several hundred of dollars a Bride and Groom ask a relative to take a video of their wedding day activities. So, here it is several years later and they have yet to receive the video. Yes, they have seen and spoken to the "videographer" cousin many times in that time period . . sometimes he makes excuses and sometimes he never talks about the video. Do you think this Bride and Groom are every going to get that video from the Groom's cousin?
