Question from a Bride and Groom . .

We just decided to get married due to a job transfer, is it Okay to send out our wedding invitations by E-mail?

Response . .

An invitation sent out by E-mail shows a lack of sincerity and warmth.  If your wedding is taking place in seven days or less, invite your guests by telephone and ask them for an acceptance (or decline) within twenty-four hours of your invitation, especially if a meal is part of the invitation.  If you wedding is taking place within fourteen days, a simple handwritten note (on white or cream colored paper) should be mailed out followed by a telephone call.

Here's an example of a handwritten invitation . .

You are invited to the wedding of Mary Elizabeth Montgomery and John David White on Friday, November 17, 2012 at 4PM at the House of All Faiths, 210 Spiritual Way, Sarasota, Florida.  A champagne toast and dinner will follow at the Edgewater Grill, 417 Seaside Boulevard, Sarasota at 515PM.  Please let us know if you plan to attend the ceremony and dinner by 8PM on Tuesday, November 13, 2012.
