Saying "Thank You"

In a perfect world a Thank You note should be sent out seven to ten days after a pre-wedding event (engagement party, bridal shower, Jack and Jill shower, etc).

In a perfect world a Thank You note should be sent out seven to ten days after receiving the wedding gift if that gift was received before the wedding date.

In a perfect world a Thank You note should be sent out within thirty days of your wedding date for all of the wedding gifts received on your wedding day.

A personal "Thank You" should always be expressed to the giver BUT you still owe the giver a handwritten "Thank You."  A personal "Thank You" is only one half of the job.

A pre-printed "Thank You" note is better than not sending any note at all BUT a handwritten is the most appropriate method of saying "Thank You."

You should never mention the amount given if you received a check or cash as a gift.  Tell the giver what you intend to do with the money, even if that means putting it in a savings account that has a specific purpose.
