Response:  No, ordained ministers of the gospel must live in Florida per Florida Statue 741.07 . . "must be of this state".

Response:  No, if the resort or hotel or motel is located "right on the beach" that area is considered "private property".

Sunset Beach Rentals/Resort, 77 Beach Road, Siesta Key, Sarasota, FL is a perfect example of a resort right on the beach.

Bride and Groom question:  Why do we have to get a "beach wedding permit"?

Response:  Because you are standing on property that is owned or managed by the County Parks and Recreation Dept.  This is no different than making a reservation for a wedding reception at a Holiday Inn.  At the Holiday Inn you are reserving a date, a time and a space for two or four or six hours.

This lighthouse is located at the Gasparilla Island State Park 

in Boca Grande, FL.    This area is also known as Sandspur Beach.

This is a STATE park and that means, reservations must be made and rules must be followed.

There is a casual restaurant about 1 mile from this location that has great food and a porch dining area for private parties.

Response:  There should be enough room for at least two people to walk down the aisle comfortably.  At least ten feet.

You do not have to spend a lot of money for a Sand Ceremony.  The air tight glass container was purchased at "The Dollar Store" for a dollar.  The two containers holding the colored sand are plastic drinking glasses.  Make sure the sand ceremony unity container has a tight lid.

Response:  Sarasota County Marriage License Dept is open from 830AM - 4PM, Monday - Friday.  No evening or weekend hours.  There is a "Marriage by Mail" via Lake County, FL that many out of state couples use.

Response  . . A Marriage License.  A declaration or pronouncement of marriage cannot be made in a commitment ceremony.  Neither can the words "Bride or Groom" be used.  A commitment ceremony is NOT a legal ceremony.  Yes, you can exchange rings or state vows to each other during the ceremony.
