You should not have a punch and wedding cake reception at Noon or at 5PM or 6PM. Your wedding guests are expecting lunch at Noon and dinner at 5 or 6PM.
I once knew of a Bride who got married in one state and then asked her guests to pay a toll to go over a bridge to another state to her wedding reception. The ceremony took place at 3PM, the wedding reception started at 5PM. Cookies, wedding cake and iced tea were served. The guests were expecting dinner.
