WD-40 to the rescue!  WD-40 has a multitude of uses.  It will also protect silver from tarnishing . . loosen stubborn zippers . . remove stains from stainless steel sinks . . remove tomato stains from clothing . . keep scissors working smoothly . . . AND it will keep the pigeons off your honeymoon balcony (they hate the smell).
