Question from a Bride and Groom . .

Are we asking for trouble by catering our own wedding?  We plan to invite about fifty people.  The reception will take place in our home.

Response . .

Serving fifty people is manageable but it does take a lot of planning, organizing and cooperation. I strongly suggest making as much as possible a day or two in advance and keeping your menu simple, for example:  a roast turkey and/or a baked ham.  I also suggest hiring two people to restock the food platters, to serve the coffee and cake and to clear and wash the dishes so YOU, the Bride and Groom, can enjoy your guests.
