Question from a Bride and Groom . .
Do we need to sign a contract with our wedding vendors?
Response: YES YES YES . . Before the contract is signed, all parties should be in agreement with the contents of the contract. Errors, mis-statements and mis-spellings should not be on a contract. Before the contract is signed it should be reviewed or proof-read by a third party for accuracy, spelling and clarity.
Remember NO ONE accurately remembers all the topics and subjects discussed in a verbal contract that was discussed months in advance of the wedding.
I once had a Bride call me a few days before her wedding. "Do you know any DJs? We thought we hired a DJ for our wedding reception but we just called him and he has another wedding booked."
"Did you sign a contract with this DJ?, I asked the Bride.
"No", the Bride said.
"Well, then you didn't hire him, you just thought you did", I said.
"Didn't anyone talk about signing a contract or reserving the date with a deposit? We just asked him if he had our date and time available," and he said, "Yes."
Remember . . asking about availability is NOT hiring a vendor.
And that's why the Bride was searching for a DJ a few days before her wedding reception.

When you buy a wedding gown make sure you know where you are walking when you "walk down the aisle". This Bride had no idea where she would be getting married when she bought her gown. Yes, she incurred grass stains on the train of her gown.
